Patrick Madden, MD

Patrick Madden, MD received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Classical Studies from Boston College in 1983 and then attended Albany Medical College of Union University and graduated with his Medical Doctor degree in 1988. He completed his Medical Internship at Boston Veterans Administration Medical Center (which was a combined Boston University and Tufts University program) in 1989, and his Neurology Residency program from Albany Medical College in 1992. He went on and completed his Neurology Fellowship training from Albany Medical College in 1993. Dr. Madden became board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1999 and was recertified in 2009 and again in 2019 by the National Board of Medical Examiners. 

After completing his medical training Dr. Madden began practicing neurology in 1993 with NeuroCare, PC and later opened his own private practice in Boston Massachusetts and practiced there until 2011.  Dr. Madden and his wife and three children relocated to Venice, Florida in 2011 and opened a private practice in Sarasota and later moved his office to Venice, Florida.

Dr. Madden’s areas of special interests include migraine, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, seizure disorders, cognitive and memory disorders, neuropathy, myasthenia gravis, muscular dystrophy, and back and neck pain.

In his free time, Dr. Madden enjoys spending his time listening to classical music while reading and writing. He also enjoys activities such as gardening, resistance training, or going out for entertainment, whether to the theater or traveling!
