“Drug overdoses are the current leading cause of accidental death in the U.S., having surpassed traffic fatalities. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there were 52,404 lethal drug overdoses in 2015. Of these, 20,101 were related to opioid analgesics and 12,990 were related to heroin. Opioid misuse, addiction and related overdose deaths have become a public health epidemic in our country, but treatment works and can help people reach long-term recovery.
At Restore Medical Partners we care about our community and are active in the fight to resolve the opioid epidemic in Sarasota and Charlotte counties. We are proud to boast that over 70% of our patients do not need any narcotic medications. Because of the quality of our interventional program, most of our patients receive early treatment and do not require any pain medication. Our physicians are Board Certified in Pain Management and are also certified through the American Board of Addiction Psychiatry to treat patients suffering from addiction to opioids and other medications. We offer comprehensive treatment programs for patients that include medications such as methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, combined with psychosocial interventions to treat and/or prevent opioid misuse, and addiction related to overdose deaths in our community.
